Bach OTA Timber Wagon.JPG (63788 bytes)

The OTAs originated from a need to transport timber to paper mills, in 1985, from various sites in the Scottish Highlands. A quick source of vehicles was found in redundant air-braked vans and open wagons. There were various types of OTA but the type modelled by Bachmann is a cut-down VDA which has had eight sockets welded onto each solebar, to take retaining stanchions (provided loose with the model). The models come complete with a lumber load and our sample is in Railfreight red and grey livery and numbered 200974. This model is from new tooling.
