Hornby NR Measurement Train
The Network Rail Measurement Train is a specialised train which operates on the UK
network measuring the contact between rails, wheels and overhead cables. The train is
equipped with cameras, lasers and other specialised equipment to calculate any potential
faults or failings on the track or overhead wires at speed.
Hornby have modified their super-detailed Class 43 model to match as close as possible the real train. This included giving both locomotives buffers at their front ends. These are 43013 and 43014 and come together in a pack as R2984. Also available are two coaches, in a coach pack (R4457), to make up the train. These are 977995 and 977996 and, like the Class 43 units, are in NR yellow livery.
