Bachmann Class 105 DMU 31-326A
The Class 105s were built in 1956 by Cravens Ltd of Sheffield, for branch line and local services. They built 402 vehicles from 1956 to 1960 and 275 of these were power cars. They were of all steel construction and the bodies were similar to Mk1 coaches, with similar windows and doors and luggage racks. The cab fronts had two large windows giving excellent forward visibility. Originally run as 3-car units, the nineteen centre cars were all withdrawn in 1970, leaving the class made up of 2-car units. Withdrawals started in the early 1980s and were completed ten years later. A few made it into blue and grey livery. Only three cars survive in preservation - a two car set (DMBS and DTCL) and a separate driving trailer car (DTCL).
The model has directional and interior lighting and lit destination boxes. It consists of a DMBS a DTCL. The early body style has been modelled with large cab-front train number indicator boxes. It also shows the early type of exhaust system that passed through the coach from the motor compartment to the exhaust port on the roof. The model is 'DCC ready' with an 8-pin decoder socket fitted. It is in BR green livery with speed whiskers and the cars are numbered E56434 (destination - Cambridge) and E51276 (destination - Harwich).
