Bachmann BAA Steel Carrier 38-351BAA Steel Coil Carrier .JPG (51222 bytes)

A total of 306 of these bogie steel wagons were built between 1972 and 1976 by BREL Ashford and BREL Shildon. They were built for the Metals section of Railfreight and were designed to carry steel coils from the steelworks to customers. The coils were very exposed to the elements causing rusting and so the wagons were replaced by the fully enclosed BRA bogie steel carriers.

The model was released in 2010 and the current version is in Railfreight Metals grey and yellow livery and is numbered 900205. It comes with three removable coils as well as removable cradles to hold them.
