Bachmann 8-plank Coke Wagon 37-207
For the transportation of coke, which is a light substance, having had much of its chemical contents removed, it was permitted to have larger wagons for a coke load. Both 7-plank and 8-plank wagons had their sides extended by the addition of extra planks, usually with gaps between the planks. The Bachmann 8-plank coke wagon (extended to a 10-plank) was not introduced to the range until 1998. The model under review is another belonging to Thomas W. Ward, this time with the familiar 'TWW' marking. It is maroon and numbered 1644A.
