New Hornby 27T Iron Ore 'Tipplers'
We were able to handle a pre-production sample of this model at the press catalogue launch last December and were well aware of the work that had gone into producing an accurate model. It has involved all new tooling and has in-line brake shoes, separately attached brake levers, narrow couplings in NEM sockets, three hole metal wheels and a cleanly moulded grey body.
Planned for release this year were two solo models and a weathered set of three. The solo models are the subject of this review. These are B383560 (R6504), which is branded 'Iron Ore Tippler', and B383642 (R6506), which is in late livery with 'MSO' coding and 'Pool 5017'.
