Hornby Skaledale High StreetSK Wheatsheaf Arms R9652 - PEH.JPG (22068 bytes)

One of the enjoyments of the Skaledale range of resin buildings is the way that, through the years, we have been able to grow a shopping street with the many small specialist businesses one might wish to find in a town. The colourful interior of each business is provided by a printed card fixed inside the model and viewed through the glazed windows. Here are five more buildings to add to the collection:SK Spire Restaurant R9654 - PEH.JPG (22397 bytes)

R9652 Wheatsheaf Arms - This is a simple rectangular based building with blank end walls, allowing you to butt the inn up to buildings on either side of it. It has white walls and black and white paintwork. The pantile roof looks new and there is a green inn sign fixed flat to the front wall of the building. It has extended windowsills on the three upper windows at the front to take window boxes (not provided). Displayed with the back to the street, it could be a high street cottage as found in many villages and small towns.SK Corner Shop R9655 - PEH.JPG (26626 bytes)

R9654 Spire Restaurant - a terrace brick building of simple rectangular form with sash windows and blue and white paintwork. It has two doors at the front, one recessed, suggesting that the upstairs is a separate flat. The rear of the building has a single blue door and two windows downstairs and three windows in the upper storey.SK Shimla Tandoori Takeaway R9676 - PEH.JPG (17440 bytes)

R9655 The Corner Shop - The only blank wall is at the back of this brick building so, while needing to be on the corner of a road system, it would also need a passageway between it and the next building. The shop door is set at an angle in the corner and there is a shop window facing onto both streets.

R9676 Shimla Tandoori Takeaway - This brick building is brightly painted in red and yellow with a white front door. It appears to be a modern building, designed to fit in with an old street scene. Its blank side walls allows for it to be fitted into a terrace of shops.SK Emma Williams Ladies Outfitters.JPG (18093 bytes)

R9687 E.Williams Ladies Outfitters - This is an older style building in a yellow brick and with the end walls rising above the level of the roof. The end walls are blank, although one has two bricked-up windows from an earlier time. The front has a central recessed door with shallow bay windows on either side of it. The roof could be slate. The paintwork is deep pink and white.
