Hornby Hawksworth Coaches in GWR LiveryHawksworth Passenger Brake.JPG (44916 bytes)

After the release of the first batches of the new range of Hawksworth coaches by Hornby in 2010 there was disappointment the they were all in BR liveries. The problem was that, although designed by the GWR, production of the coaches fell almost completely into the BR period. While there was limited photographic evidence that some were painted in GWR livery, there was doubt as to whether any of them ran in revenue earning service in that livery. Despite this doubt, there was clearly a demand for the models in GWR chocolate and cream and so Hornby have obliged and produced the full range of six types in that livery. Five of them are illustrated here. These are:Hawksworth GWR 3rd .JPG (51012 bytes)
