The original Hornby HAA Merry-go-round hopper wagon arrived in 1980 and, with many of the real wagons in use on the railways, it was a good choice. It is a subject seen in long trains and so the serious modeller would want to make up full length trains to run..
With the constant move towards greater detail and the fact that Hornby were planning models of later wagons based on reuse of redundant HAA chassis, a new improved model arrived in 2003 and that is the one reviewed here. It is in BR livery and numbered 355203.
