As those familiar with the Hornby catalogues of recent years will know, Hornby, as part of their marketing plan, adopt themes for limited edition releases. In recent years we have had the NRM Collection, Pete Waterman Collection, Commonwealth Collection, Barry Freeman Collection and now we have the Royal Mail Great British Railways Collection. This is a series of limited edition locomotives sold in high quality presentation boxes and representing real steam locomotives of the past that appear on a new set of postage stamps. Accompanying the locomotive in each box is a special Royal Mail cover envelope, complete with the relevant stamp. There is also a numbered certificate.
