Hornby 9-plank Wagon
R6515The former Airfix wooden mineral wagon, with its pair of drop-down doors on either side, was a popular subject when first introduced in 1980 and many modellers bought them in quantity to make up north eastern mineral trains. Airfix produced three versions of the model and Palitoy another two. Since acquiring the tooling, Hornby have produced 18 versions of it, most of them in BR grey livery. Only two of the models were finished in private owner liveries and this is the second of them.
The Denaby & Cadby Collieries were served by the LMS and the LNER.
The model carries a maroon livery and is numbered 3246. The ironwork is picked out in black and the lettering is white, shaded black.
