The current Hornby 14 ton tank wagon is an attractive model whose history lies in the Palitoy Mainline range of the 1970s. The model was duplicated by a company in Hong Kong and the tools were owned by Dapol until sold to Hornby in 1996. The first Hornby version appeared in 1998 and since then 13 versions have been produced. The current one is in Esso beige livery and numbered 1164.
