Graham Farish TEA Bogie Tank Wagon TEA Gulf 85021 grey W 373-557.JPG (44789 bytes)

The bogie tank wagon which became the standard design used by the major oil companies in Britain was developed by Metro-Cammell, initially for Shell Mex and BP.   It has a chassis-less underframe and a reinforced tank resting on short solebars above the two ESC1 bogies. It has a maximum speed restriction of 60 mph and a capacity of 102 tons, although early ones were limited to 92 tons.

The Graham Farish model dates from 1983 and was reintroduced by Bachmann in 2004. 373-557 illustrated here is in weathered Gulf livery and numbered 85021. The real wagon would have been built by Charles Roberts in 1970 for Lloyds & Scottish/Gulf.
