Graham Farish PGA Aggregate Hopper
![]()
This wagon was built by Procor in 1980 for aggregate traffic and of a design leased to various customers. Procor had started building PGAs in 1978 and produced four batches of them. Our model represents a wagon from the final batch. The wagons had a 16ft wheelbase and carried a load of 38 tons.
ECC was formed in 1919 by the merger of West of England China Clay Co., Martyn Brothers and North Cornwall China Clays, who joined together to form English China Clays. At the time, the three companies accounted for around half the output of the country's china clay. This merger was followed in 1932 by the merger of ECC with two of its main rivals, John Lovering and H. D. Pochin. This formed the new company English China Clays, Lovering, Pochin, & Co. (ECLP): in 1956 the Lovering and Pochin families were bought out and the company became known as ECC International Ltd. In 1999 ECC International was acquired by the French company Imetal which subsequently changed its name to Imerys.
The Graham Farish PGA model dates from 1993 and was reintroduced by Bachmann in 2003. Our model (373-031B) is in the light blue livery of English China Clays plc and is numbered PR14368.
