Graham Farish BR 12T Fruit Van Plywood Fruit Van B875800 377-625.jpg (52210 bytes)

While these were built as fruit vans, they were also used for vegetable traffic and general merchandise. They had a 10ft wheelbase and were vacuum-braked. The vans were XP rated so that they could be attached to fast passenger trains in order to get produce to market as quickly as possible. The model is based on the final version of the standard van, 100 of which were built at Darlington between December 1953 and January 1954..

The model (377-625) represents a fruit van with plywood sides and painted in early bauxite livery. It carries the number. B875800 and is from completely new tooling.
