Hornby Hawksworth Coaches
The first of the new Hawksworth coaches arrived in 2010 and were immediately welcomed as excellent models. Both crimson & cream and all maroon versions have been released together. The seating is correctly coloured and there are white window curtains, 'no smoking' triangles on windows, doors that have individually fitted grab bars and the electricity conduits up the ends of the coach and up onto the roof look most realistic in a fine wire. The under-floor detail is particularly fine and the buffers are sprung. Compensating narrow couplings are fitted and the gangway connectors are of a soft plastic, allowing them to safely touch on adjoining coaches.
Hornby have modelled five types: a full passenger brake, corridor 3rd, brake 3rd, composite and a brake composite. They are adding an all-1st this year, bring the number of types to six. Illustrated here are ten of the latest releases. In crimson & cream there are: all-3rd No.W856W (R4405A), brake 3rd No.W2138W (R4406A), composite No.W7261W (R4407A), brake composite W7373W (R4408A) and full brake W316W (R4404A). In BR maroon livery there are: all-2nd No.W2107W (R4410A), brake 2nd No.W2185W (R4411A), composite No.W7252 (R4412A), composite brake W7853W (R4413A) and full brake No.W325W (R4409A)

Please note that although paint shades vary in my pictures, due to the prevailing light at the time each was taken, the paint on the models is of one constant shade - so don't be put off.
