This train pack was scheduled for release in 2010 as part of the celebration of the 175 Anniversary of the founding of the Great Western Railway. The pack contains the original Tri-ang model of the 'Dean Single' as No.3012 Great Western and two clerestory coaches No.949 and No.3377 (brake). The locomotive model dates back to 1961 when it was released as Lord of the Isles. It was not until 46 years later that Hornby released it with a different name - then it was as both Lorna Doone and Royal Sovereign in the same year. Great Western is now the fifth name it has carried. The coaches are not the same ones used with the original model but are the improved scale length clerestory coaches of 1982.
