Bachmann Class 37/0 Diesels B Class 37-0 BRc green D6801.jpg (48327 bytes)

The Class 37, as it would become under TOPS, was an English Electric mixed traffic design, which entered service in 1960. It became the largest of all the Type 3 classes with 309 being built. Construction took place between 1957 and 1962, but, over the following years, modifications and refurbishments created six subclasses, several of which have been modelled by Bachmann. Their original allocation was to the Western, Eastern and Scottish Regions but they were eventually to be found anywhere in mainland Britain.B Class 37-0 BRe blue No.37251.JPG (48853 bytes)

These two models reflect the diesel in its original condition i.e. the standard locomotive (37/0). The models have working LED headlights, metal roof grills and fans, sprung buffers and cast or fabricated bogies. Upgraded bogies and wheels were fitted from the start of 2008 as appropriate. Since 2006, 21-pin DCC sockets have been fitted to make them 'DCC ready'. Both models represent subclass members with original valances. D6801 (32-782) is in BR green with late decals and warning flashes. It has split codeboxes and small yellow panels on the lower cab fronts. 37251 (32-781) is in BR Rail blue with centre domino codeboxes.
