Bachmann 8-plank Wagons

In order to carry greater loads, some companies ordered 8-plank wagons instead of 7-planks. These, however, were far less common.
There was no Mainline equivalent tooling to use and so the 8-plank was not added to the Bachmann range until it launched its Blue Riband series in 1998. Once again, Bachmann produced two versions and here we have both types. The end door type is represented by 'James & Emanuel' No.451 (37-135) while the wagons with fixed ends are represented by private owner wagons 'Foster & Co.' No.17 (37-161) and 'Isleworth Coal Co.' No.(37-160). The BR grey P322491 (37-158B) is an example of an 8-plank private owner wagon taken over at Nationalisation.
