Warley 2010 Show Wagons
The ever popular commissioned wagons for Warley Model Railway Exhibition, at the NEC, for 2010, were a pair of tank wagons in Brotherton livery. These two have been issued before by the Warley MRS, in 2007, but this time they are in weathered condition and with different numbers. If past records are anything to go by, they will continue to command high 'buy it now' prices on Ebay.
They are both 'type 4' tank wagons, the Ammonia one being blue, with a red saddle, and numbered 906, while the Sulphuric Acid tank is red-brown and numbered 808. 'Type 4' 14T tank wagons (as described in the Bachmann Branchline Pocket Guide) have narrow ladders (4.5mm wide) up to a 23mm long gantry each side of a flat topped manhole cover. The tanks are held in with horizontal stays between the end stanchions.
