Hornby Pullmans
The third series Pullman cars arrived in 2003 and led the revolution which has resulted
in a set of high quality coaches designed by each of the four post-grouping railway
companies. Since their introduction both K (8-wheeled) and H (12 wheeled) types of Pullman
car have been produced and both matchboard and sheeted sides on the former. Next year we
will have the Brighton Belle all Pullman electric multiple units to add to the Hornby
Pullman collection.
Since the introduction of the third series of Pullman cars, around 150 different ones have been released by Hornby. Here are four that were recently introduced. Neptune is a type H 1st class kitchen car (R4420), the first of this type to be modelled. Car No.294 (R4419) and Car No.98 (R4385) are both type H 3rd class parlour cars, while Car No.55 is a type K 3rd class brake car (R4425). All these models have matchboard sides.
