Hornby London 2012 Class 395 Train
Hornby were successful in
their bid to be the official manufacturers of toys and models commemorating the London
Olympics in 2012. The first of the Hornby railway models was released in 2010 with more
scheduled to follow in 2011 and 2012.
For 2010 there are a DCC ready train set (R1148) and train pack (R2961) both containing the same train - the Hitachi Class 395 in white and adorned with stylistic figures in sports poses. It also carries the London 2012 Olympic logo one siide and the logo for the Paralympics on the other side. Both set and pack contain a motorised driver trailer, a non-motorised driver trailer (both with non-working pantographs) and two open coaches. The units are numbered 395 001 and all cars are numbered 2010. The set contains an oval of 3rd radius track with a siding, wall plug transformer, R8250 controller and a Trakmat.
