Bachmann BR Mk2 FK Coaches
The prototype Mk2 vehicle, a corridor first (FK) was introduced in 1963. It was
pressure ventilated and of semi-integral construction. It had tungsten lighting and ran on
B4 bogies. The eventual Mk2 coaches were very similar to this but had wider windows. In
the second class vehicles there was a different seating design and fluorescent lighting.
Internal finishes were in wood. These Mk2 coaches were built between 1964 and 1966, after
which production moved on to Mk2As. Some of the early FKs were painted in the maroon or
green livery that was in use at the time and Bachmann have replicated this with their
models. Recent releases of the Bachmann model have been:
BR maroon livery as No.W13432 (39-332A)
BR green (Southern Region) livery as No.S13401 (39-333A)
