Hornby's First Hawksworth Coach
The first of the new Hawksworth coaches has arrived and is a beautiful model. It is an all 2nd corridor coach in maroon livery and numbered W1717W (R4410). The seating is red and there are white window curtains on the compartment side (except for the two compartments with external doors. Of the eight compartments, the two centre ones have 'no smoking' triangles on the windows. The doors have individually fitted grab bars, the electricity conduits up the ends of the coach and onto the roof are in a fine wire and the under-floor detail is particularly fine. Compensating narrow couplings are fitted and the gangway connectors of a soft plastic allowing them to safely touch on adjoining coaches - and, of course, the buffers are sprung. These will certainly please Western Region modellers.
