Grand Central is an 'open access' operator, running a service between Sunderland in the North East to London King's Cross. After delays, the service finally started in December 2007. 2010 was a year of expansion with the addition of a Bradford - King's Cross service. The company operates six Class 43 diesels with Mk3 coaches - all in their unusual black livery. Hornby have released their new Class 43 model as a powered and non-powered pair and illustrated here are the R2705 Grand Central pair - 43080 and 43068.H Mk3 Grand Central 1st.jpg (47975 bytes)

Also available now is another Mk3 1st class coach in Grand Central livery (R4329A). This is numbered 41204 and completion of this years programme will give us 7 coaches in this livery.
