Bachmann TEA Bogie Tank Wagons

Where large quantities needed to be carried by rail, bogie tank wagons of 100 ton capacity could be used. These started to appear in 1966 when Shell-Mex, BP and Esso were forming block trains of them. They also rode better than the four-wheeled tank wagons. With the arrival of the new 100T bogie tank wagons, the small 2-axle tankers quickly disappeared from trains carrying petroleum products. Our two examples here are 38-110A Shell in pale grey and numbered SUKO87222 and 38-111A BP in traditional green and numbered BPO85060.
