Bachmann Shock Absorbing 5-plank Open Wagon 37-8775-plk Shock Wagon BR brown B721326.jpg (46102 bytes)

Shock-absorbing springs, to protect sensitive loads during shunting, were developed in the 1930s by the LMS, SR and GWR. The war stopped further development but new batches of wagons, so fitted, were beginning to appear in the lead up to Nationalisation. Some of the SR design carried a 'B' number prefix. The review model is of a British Railways build in Bauxite livery and numbered 'B721326'.
