Hornby PullmansPullman Car The New Century Bar.jpg (36512 bytes)

The most recent batch of Pullman 'K' type cars from Hornby are all fitted with 4-wheel bogies and have smooth sides (representing steel or aluminium sheeting). The models all have the later grey roofs, which proved more practical than the earlier white finish.

The bar car, The New Century Bar (R4418), was a later development of Diamond - Daffodil Bar which Hornby produced a model of last year and so this was a natural development for them. The real vehicle had been converted to a bar car at Brighton in June 1955 and its sides plated at the same time. It was withdrawn from service around 1966/67.Pullman 2nd Parlour Car No.66.jpg (36537 bytes)
