Hornby Pullmans
The most recent batch of Pullman 'K' type cars from Hornby are all fitted with 4-wheel bogies and have smooth sides (representing steel or aluminium sheeting). The models all have the later grey roofs, which proved more practical than the earlier white finish.
The bar car, The New Century Bar (R4418), was a later development of Diamond
- Daffodil Bar which Hornby produced a model of last year and so this was a natural
development for them. The real vehicle had been converted to a bar car at Brighton in June
1955 and its sides plated at the same time. It was withdrawn from service around 1966/67.
2nd Class parlour Car No.66 (R4427) is based on one that had its sides plated in aluminium sheets in 1960. In 1962 it was renamed Avon as a standby vehicle for the WR 'Blue Pullman'.

1st Class Kitchen Zenobia (R4428) is also based on a car which had its sides aluminium plated in 1960. The work was done at the Pullman Car Company's works at Preston Park, Brighton. It was withdrawn from service in November 1963.

3rd Class Brake Car No.27 (R4430) represents a Pullman car which was formerly 3rd class kitchen car Car No.80 and was converted to a brake parlour 3rd at Preston Park in 1937. It was withdrawn from service in 1966.
