The HTA was introduced by EWS to use on the coal mine/power station merry-go-round routes. They represented the largest order for one specific design of wagon since the mid 1970s. Each wagon can carry 75 tonnes and 1,162 were built. They have a maximum speed of 75mph. Bachmann produced the 00 scale model in 2003 and the N gauge version arrived a three years later. This is only the third variation to be released. It is in EWS livery and numbered '310103'.
