Bachmann BR 8T Cattle Wagon 37-712
British Railways inherited 11,089 cattle wagons in 1948 and, despite the continuing decline in traffic, carried on building them, to the GWR design, up until 1954. 2,300 of these were built at Swindon. There were soon many redundant vans and they were used for other purposes such as the transportation of vegetables. The last two cattle wagons survived until 1975 when they were rescued by the National Railway Museum.
Although the model was introduced only last year, there are already 12 versions available, including the review mode. This is one of 10 now available in BR Bauxite livery (six of the others are in two commissioned triple sets). It is numbered 'B893085' and has the late wording style
