The Maunsell range of passenger stock, while late in coming, have proved to be a resounding success. Six more have been released in the last two months. Three of these are high window versions in BR crimson and cream livery, which always looks wrong,  to the reviewer, on Southern and Western coaches.Maunsell 3-compartment brake BR .JPG (33796 bytes) Growing up in the 1950s, crimson and cream was usually allocated to Eastern Region models and occasionally they carried an 'M' number prefix.

Maunsell 1st BR.JPG (35048 bytes)Models of Southern Region coaches were always green and Western Region ones always had to be chocolate and cream. In truth all regions coaches were crimson and cream for a while.
