Bachmann 50ft Parcels 34-327CParcels Van LMS 31027.jpg (45490 bytes)

This was the standard period 3 LMS 50' full brake design. No.31027 was one of a batch of 25 built at Wolverton in 1939. This particular vehicle had an 8 ton carrying capacity and remained in service until November 1967. Built to diagram 2007, the 50' long bogie full brakes were successors to the shorter six wheeled 'Stove R' and became the most numerous LMS full brakes on the system. Most were rated as having a 12 ton carrying capacity.

The model was originally tooled by Kader for Palitoy's Mainline range and the first version for Bachmann was released in 1990. This makes it one of the first releases under the Bachmann Branchline label. This is the fourth Bachmann version in LMS livery.
