Bachmann HTA Coal Hopper 37-854HTA coal hopper.jpg (43070 bytes)

Bachmann released their HTA bogie bulk coal hopper in 2002 and have released 5 versions of it. This is the second with a 'weathered' finish. The 'weathering' is quite heavy on the lower half and it has obliterated the printed detail including the running number which I understand is '310384'. As this is an EWS wagon, all are in EWS maroon livery.

The HTA was introduced by EWS to replace MGR hoppers and were the largest order for one specific wagon design since the mid 1970s. Each wagon can carry 75 tonnes and 1,162 were built. They have a maximum speed of 75mph.
