Bachmann GWR Class 8750 32-2070-6-0PT Class 8750.JPG (48088 bytes)

The GWR Class 8750 model dates from 1999 and there have been 14 versions of it produced so far. Six of these have been in GWR green and the rest in BR black. This is the sixth version with late BR decals on its tank sides. The model carries the number '9761' and comes complete, but for a separately bagged brake pipe for mounting on the rear of the bunker, above the buffer beam. It carries an yellow 'C' route availability code above the number on the cabsides, which the real locomotives carried from 1950.

The class had been introduced to the GWR in 1933 by Collett as a heavier version of his Class 57xx and was classified as Class 4F in BR days. They had a modified cab, for better visibility by the crew and better weather protection. They had more angular windows front and back than those of the Class 57xx.
