Bachmann Class 221 'Super Voyagers'
The Bachmann 'Super Voyager' arrived in 2004 and four versions of the 5-car train have been made so far. Two of these sets have recently been released by Bachmann and these are Virgin Trains No.221122 Doctor Who (32-627) and Arriva Cross Country No.221135 (32-628). The nameplates for the power car in set 32-627 are etched metal and are provided separately for the customer to attach.

The real trains were part of Virgin Trains' commitment when they won the Cross-Country franchise in 1996. 34 non-tilting Class 220 'Voyagers' were built by Bombardier Transportation and 44 tilting Class 221 'Super Voyagers'. The 5-car trains proved to be inadequate for the amount of passengers they needed to carry and problems followed their introduction.
