The Class 08 diesel shunter was added to Bachmann's catalogue in 2000 and, since then, 28 versions of it have been released. The current one is in BR blue livery with a 'weathered' finish and numbered '08173'. It is the seventh in this livery but the first with a 'weathered' finish. It is without ladders on the front and, like all 08 diesel shunters released by Bachmann since 2005, it is ready to take an 8-pin DCC decoder. The 'weathering' is brown and decreases up the sides.
