Hornby RailRoad S&DJR Jinty R2882
True the Hornby 'Jinty' does not measure up to the Bachmann model but for one that is over 30 years old, it is still an attractive model. The current one was tooled in 1978 and replaced the original Tri-ang model of 1953. The pre-production samples of the current model have survived in a private collection and show that there were several attempts at getting it looking right. 14 versions have been produced since then and the latest is in the RailRoad range. It carries Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway dark blue livery and sports the number '24'. This was a very large class of 0-6-0 tank engines built for the LMS, but 7 were built specifically for the S&DJR.
