Hornby LMS Maroon Coaches (RailRoad)
The release of super-detail coaches does not render older models useless, in Hornby's
case. The older models being a lot cheaper to make, have a continued life in train sets
(which are aimed at younger customers) and also in the RailRoad budget range. From all
reports received, the latter has been a great success, not only with children but also
with less fussy adult modellers or those wanting a basic model to detail themselves or
convert to something else.
Here we have a pair of the 1977 models of Stanier type coaches, brought up to date with the high standard of finish expected today. Both are in LMS maroon and with silver roofs. The first is a composite coach No.4183 (R4388) and the second a brake end No.5200 (R4389).
