Hornby Class 08 EWS R2871

The excellent Hornby Class 08 diesel shunter arrived in 2005 after modellers had had to endure for 51 years a model with no outside frames and wheels too widely spaced. Some complained that Hornby should have chosen a subject that was not already available in the Bachmann range but the new Hornby model took the super-detail standard up a further notch and saw the back of that dreadfully unrealistic model that it replaced. Unfortunately the latter lives-on in the RailRoad range but hopefully Hornby will replace it with the former Lima 08 which does have outside frames and a more realistic wheel spacing.
