Two more Mk1 coaches, both in BR maroon livery, have been released. These are an FK and a BG.

While the Mk1 coaches were improved by Bachmann and now have interior units, they are basically the models introduced in 1981. These have a common clear plastic body moulding onto which, colour and detail are printed, according to the type of vehicle being represent. The roofs, with different moulded detail are individually type related. There is no doubt that the adding of interior units has greatly improved the look of these coaches and the printing today is superb. The FK carries the number 'M13070' (374-153B).GF Mk1 BG BR maroon.jpg (51050 bytes)

The Graham Farish BG was added to the range in 1984 and was superior to the other Mk1 coaches in having moulded detail along its sides. This was because, being a shorter vehicle, it required a tool of its own and so the detail could be put into the mould. Like the other coaches, the body was moulded in clear plastic and the colour printed on, leaving clear spaces for windows. The current model is the 21st to be released by Bachmann, from the tooling, and represents a London Midland Region allocated vehicle. Today the finish on the model is improved and on this one the running number is 'M80950' (374-027C).
