Dapol 1E Promotionals Releases
The latest pair of wagons from 1E Promotionals, produced for them by Dapol, are 5-plank J.O.Vinter (CA5) and 7-plank South & Gasson (Bl1).
'Jo' Vinter was a coal merchant in Cambridge and his lorries are well remembered by the
writer who grew up in the city. The model coal wagon is light grey and numbered '315'. The
MR, LNWR, GNR and GER all had depots at Cambridge and so there was no shortage of coal
yards.
South & Gasson were coal agents in Ship Street in Brighton (another of the writer's former homes). The wagon modelled is dark brown and No.105, which seems quite high for a local service but it did not necessarily mean that there were 104 other wagons in the company's fleet
