A considerable 'hit' has been Bachmann's Class 150 'Sprinter'. Earlier we had the 150/1s and now the first two examples of the 150/2 subclass have been released from the Kader works in China. To versions are on their way - one in Arriva Wales/Arriva Cymru light blue livery as 150256 and the other is in BR Regional Railways blue and grey as '150270'.

The most obvious difference between the two subclasses is the provision of gangway connections on the front ends of the 150/2s, so that units coupled together in longer trains have through access, for staff and passengers, between units. 50 of the 150/1 sets were built and 85 of the 150/2s. The latter were built in 1987 at BREL York and are now owned by Angel Trains and Porterbrook.

The models are superb and perform excellently and can manage 1st radius curves. Acceleration from static is very smooth with good creep control. The windows of the trailer car are darkened but those on the power car are blacked out to hide the mechanism and ballast which ensures this high performance. The model comes in the new style packaging.
