Hornby GWR Mogo Van R6402AH Van GW Mogo 126352.jpg (28266 bytes)

The 'Mogo' van was tooled in China for Dapol, based on the Mainline model of 1981. Dapol released their version in 1991 and sold the tooling to Hornby five years later. The original Mainline tools passed to Bachmann who continued to use them until 1999. Since 1998, Hornby have used the former Dapol tools to produce just five versions of the 'Mogo' - suggesting that perhaps it is a subject that does not sell too well. The new model is in GWR dark grey livery and carries the number '126352'.

Mogo vans were built by the GWR for transporting motor vehicles. To facilitate this they had a pair of doors at each end and drop-down flaps that rested on the buffer stocks and closed the gap between wagons. Vehicles were driven in from a platform on the end of the siding and were driven through the train from one van to the next.
