Hornby Commonwealth CollectionA4 BRc Commonwealth of Australia 5 - PEH.JPG (62222 bytes)

To quote from the 2009 Hornby catalogue: "In 1937 and to celebrate the Coronation of George VI, the LNER inaugurated the 'The Coronation' service which operated between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh Waverley. It was based on the very successful 'Silver Jubilee' service which had commenced operation in 1935. There were five new LNER A4 locomotives assigned to 'The Coronation' and they were named after Commonwealth countries. This year two of the five locomotives have been chosen to start the collection and each will be produced in a limited edition of 1000 pieces, complete with authenticating certificate."A4 BRb Dominion of New Zealand 3 - PEH.JPG (58568 bytes)

These first two locomotives are R2825 Commonwealth of Australia in BR Brunswick green with late BR insignia on the tender sides and no warning flashes and R2826 Dominion of New Zealand, also in BR green but with early BR insignia.
