Bachmann Class 170 Cross Country Trains
32-465
The Class 170 'Turbostar' model joined the Bachmann catalogue in 2001. Since then, nine 2-car and six 3-car versions have been produced. The current model is a
Class 170/2 3-car unit in Arriva Cross Country livery and numbered '170102'. The cars are individually numbered '50102', '55102' and '79102'. The centre car carries a centrally mounted motor which dives both bogies through flywheels. The two end cars have detailed interiors although these are difficult to see because of the darkened glazing. The model has LED directional lighting and prototypical ribbon glazing and different front apron styles
Adtranx/Bombardier built these fast commuter and inter-regional trains from 1998. They have power-operated sliding-plug doors, air conditioning, dot-matrix passenger information boards, catering trolley service and some have public telephones. They are capable of travelling at 100mph.
