Despite the current delivery problems that Hornby are experiencing with their Chinese supplier, a number of this year's Skaledale releases are now available. These are the following:

R8956 Mine Shaft Building

R9628 Mining Headstock

R9533 Magna Goods Sheddscn0868.jpg (47068 bytes)

R9503 Magna Water Tower

R9532 Magna Engine Shed

R8987 Anderson Shelter

R8986 Brick Garage

R9510 3-Arch Viaduct

R8976 Yew Tree Cottagedscn0869.jpg (25952 bytes)

The two mine buildings add to the six models released last year allowing a larger industrial complex to be built. The three Magna buildings are part of seven-piece set that form a station yard and which will be maintained as a semi-permanent feature of the Skaledale range.

The 3-arch viaduct is particularly attractive and seems to be based on the Tri-ang triple arch viaduct (R180 in the current Hornby range of plastic lineside models and kits). In this cold-cast resin version the arches are occupied by businesses consisting of SkaleAutos Tyre Company, the Arches Cafe and Sheaf Materials Handling Ltd. Various SkaleAutos cars will be suitable to go with the tyre company and a Ford Anglia van in Sheaf Materials Handling Ltd livery, plus a railway van in the RailRoad range, have been provided this year. If you buy two of the viaducy models, you can reverse one and show a different set of bricked-up arches each with a door, grilled window and ventilation unit.dscn0870.jpg (23005 bytes)
