Bachmann Kader 60th Anniversary pair

Kader Holdings, the parent company of Bachmann Europe Plc, was formed in Hong Kong in 1948 as a toy and model manufacturer and 2008 saw the company celebrate its 60th Anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, this twin set of locomotives was released.
The subjects chosen are significant. When Bachmann Europe Plc was
formed it had available to it the tooling that Kader had developed for an earlier customer
in 1976. This was the British company Palitoy who marketed their trains as Mainline
Railways. Palitoy had launched the Mainline range with an LNER Class J72 0-6-0T and a BR
Standard 4MT 4-6-0 and so these two models, which in 1990 also spearheaded the new
Bachmann Branchline range, have been chosen to commemorate this important anniversary.
The J72 model underwent improvements before joining the Bachmann range and has been in production, off and on, ever since then. This version is in LNER lined green and numbered 581. The BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 was retooled last year and the model in this set is in BR lined Brunswick green and numbered 75001.
A special box has been designed to hold the two locomotives and on the back of this is a useful potted history of the models and the company that produced them.
