Hornby Stanier StockStanier Brake 3rd.JPG (44391 bytes)

Hornby produced four super-detailed LMS period 3 coaches in 2005 to replace the existing Stanier coaches that dated from 1977. To date, these have been produced only in maroon - both as LMS and BR versions. The same applies to recent releases which include: R4232A which is a brake 3rd in LMS livery and numbered 5619, R4234A a Stanier 1st class coach in BR livery as M1040M and R4237A which is a full brake, also in BR maroon but numbered M31040. Stanier all 1st.JPG (40191 bytes)The coaches are supplied with closed corridor doors at each end but separately supplied in the boxes are two corridor connectors, in 'expanded' condition, which can easily be used to replace those already on the coach. If it is intended to keep the coaches together in fixed rakes, there are alternative unobtrusive couplings, that fit into the NEM pockets in place of the tension-lock couplings that are fitted.
