Hornby Mk3 Intercity
The current Mk3 range of coaches dates from 1999 when it replaced the
much older short Mk3 range. Three vehicles were initially modelled, these being a open
standard (SO), first open (FO) and restaurant buffet first (RFB), but to these were added
a trailer guard second (TGS) and a sleeping car (SLE) from the former Lima range in 2006.
Twelve different liveries have been used on these coaches including two each for GNER and Great Western and two for BR Intercity. The current set of three is in the beige and very dark grey (black) of BR Intercity and consists of SO 12132 (R4295A), FO 11036 (R4294A) and RFB 10225 (R4296A). The livery is too early to have location letters and a pack of buffers is provided for those who wish to convert them to loco hauled stock.
