Hornby Castle Class R2736
In the year that the 70th Anniversary of the Hornby Dublo system is being celebrated, it is appropriate that Hornby should release the modern 'Castle' Class locomotive model in the image of one of Hornby Dublo's most loved models - that is 7013 Bristol Castle which they released in 1957.
The actual model used by Hornby today is, of course, the former Airfix 'Castle' which was modified by Dapol and which Hornby have owned since 1996. There is pressure on Hornby to replace the 'Castle' with a super-detailed model and it will be interesting to see whether they do so before the GWR's most popular subject is lost to another manufacturer.
